jesus illustrates this when he is conversing with nicodemus. he explains that a person is born imperfect, and continues to explain that being born again is of the spirit

John 3:3-6 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

it is interesting to note that jesus never regarded himself as perfect

this is evident when jesus converses with the self righteous in these verses:

Matthew 11:18-19 (KJV)
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

excuse unedited grammar
Matthew 26:
[69] Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
[70] But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
[71] And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
[72] And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
[73] And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
[74] Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the **** (rooster) crew.

Peter is one of the most infamous liars of all time. According to Gospel Matthew on three different occasions Peter denied that he even KNEW Jesus. Then Peter declared that the corpse of Jesus not only returned to life, but physically flew away. And you believe him!

The difference between maturity and life long immaturity rests on our ability to critically and honestly evaluate the indoctrination of our childhood in an attempt to generate our own worldview when we become adults.

That is because it is professional. The first stage is a response to reward and punishment. The second stage is following role models. The final stage of maturity is described in the bold. It is the internalization of our values that are the principles we adhere to no matter what are the external consequences, like Jesus love for us all, including His torturers and murderers.

Professorial is not a made up word but your misspelling of it might be. Professorial describes the output of Professors who teach professionals.
