It s a matter of trust. The reason Gautama rejected the concept of ANY eternal or permanent entity is he didn't trust that the cycle of samsara would ever end if there was a God. So he relied on karma as an impersonal force leading us to Nirvana through Samsara.

I am no longer Buddhist but I think you are too wrapped up in the details. Nirvana is no different than the Bliss of union with God. The paths of self-control are the same and maitri is the same as agape. Instead of a mindless, impersonal, indifferent "whatever," the ultimate goal is union with God. The reincarnation of Samsara could be a reference to the refining process for the failures.

Where or not there is a god is a "detail"?

Whether or not you acknowledge that what you seek is God is a detail since what you seek exists whatever it is.

No, it isn't.
You have one belief that does not accept god.
And you're trying to mix it with a belief system that accepts god.

It's one or the other. A rare binary choice.

Since Buddhism is a way of life there is nothing necessarily inconsistent with a belief in God as you suggest. It is just that the existing beliefs ABOUT God as a controlling, or demanding, or intervening entity run counter to Buddhism, NOT the God of Jesus as I interpret Him.

That's your PERSONAL viewpoint. It is not the general Buddhist viewpoint. I can cite many articles about it, but I'm not going to bother because you know that the general belief in Buddhism is that there is not a god.

Well, guys, the truth is that there are many gods out there, but there is one and only one true Living God, the Almighty God that has no beginning and no end; the Creator of the Universe and everything that exists and lives. For God said "I am the Lord thy God",Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus20). For, He's a Jealous God who punishes the iniquity of the father on his children until the 3rd and 4th generation. All those other gods owe their existence to the True Living God because human beings worship them and it's the Almighty one true God who created Human beings. But followers are fighting each other over whose god is the true god. We all are free to adopt and worship any god we choose to and practice the doctrine and faith of our choice. But I am certain that each one of us wants to worship the one and only true Living God. We all have been raised up under different beliefs and concepts of God. But If we want to know if the god we worship is the true God, let's seek Him with all our heart, all our mind, and all our soul in all sincerity, He shall open our intelligence and make us understand what we never could understand and reveal Himself to us as the one and only True Living God, the Creator, the Maker and owner of every world, of every planet, of every galaxy, of every visible and invisible living beings and things in the whole Universe. Then, if someone comes tell us that we are worshiping the wrong God, if he can't prove it to us, let's Tell him " Thanks but no thanks." Peace to all. May God bless you all.
