Spend any amount of time here, and you'll find out the secularists really only tolerate those they agree with. Thankfully they are not truly indicative of real life.
But yes--we are to love each other.
Not sure how you can truly love a secularist when you believe they deserve eternal torment in hell.

He thinks every newborn babe deserves it. He believes we are all scum-sucking, stained-souled, bottom feeders and only his god-thing's great mercy prevents it from toasting us for an eternity -- IF one becomes a Christian fundie and says The Magic Words To Jesus.
Everybody else though, gets baked. And not in the good way.

Strange that this simple realization does not trigger the slightest amount of rational contempt for its absurdity.

But, that's what's written somewhere in the Bible.
So, it has to be true.
Even though innocent , that they deserve such torment is unbelievable ...would seem it goes against what Jesus directly taught...and as a comandment, no less.
This ought to give a Fundimentalist a headache trying to figure out, also seeing their belief, at least in this regard,
doesn't make sense.
Do you think so, BapFun?
This is why many are 'cherry pickers'...cafeteria style.

It’s more evident that Jesus supported this doctrine. As far as i can see eternal torment is a NT doctrine defined by Jesus himself.

Wrong. Jesus made it abundantly clear what the True Nature of God is by using His life as an unambiguous example. All the eternal torment nonsense is from the fallible men who chronicled His life and death using their primitive and barbaric beliefs about God as the context for interpreting Him.

How on earth can you know anything of what Jesus thought? There is no evidence he wrote a single word. You don’t even know who these “fallible men” are. “You” are clearly disingenuously dismissing what the Bible says on this doctrine and who it was attributed.
OP, to claim the biblical God or Jesus loves all is utter nonsense. Both condemn the majority of humans to either eternal torment or destruction by fire. This is not love. This is sick twisted evil, which is just another reason I dismiss the Bible as manmade myth.
I can have compassion and understanding for him having a distorted, deranged mind.
It's the old "dropped on his head at birth" compassion....while having disgust and revulsion for what it made him think and then do.
Compassion is another way love expresses itself....like charity, listening, kindness, aiding in a time of need when ya think they caused all their problems themselves. ha....giving selflessly of yourself without judgment.
It's not mushy, affectionate , eros love.
