We are all stupid, I am certain of that. Our awareness is severely limited. That's just how the mind works, or doesn't work.

As I said before, we really don't know if that was silly. We really don't understand sacrifice.
Aside from that, humans have done all kinds of clever things in recent centuries, and many will argue against the idea that we are all stupid. They will insist that some are intelligent and some are wise.
Well some may be smarter than others in certain ways. But everyone's consciousness, and ability to understand complex systems, is severely limited.
