The author does not sound to be Christian , See Jesus said that ``unless your righteousness surpasses the scribes and the Pharisees then you won`t see the kingdom of heaven `` ...... And this author of biblical law sounds to be a scribe
The vast majority of Christians are nothing like how Jesus commanded them to be. Matt Shea is hardly alone in this.
It just strikes me that, instead of saying 'That's appalling. I trust that the Republicans and, indeed, Christians, will denounce this as strongly as I do", we are getting: "How dare you atheists even mention this? it just shows what a bunch of intolerant bigots you all are!"

You've got both POVs, and the latter statement from one poster only.

Yep. I checked back and I counted three apologists or makers of excuses of suggesting an atheist conspiracy to blacken Right -wing religion. But a couple who wanted to distance themselves from this as not representative of Christianity. I may have a look at the news reports of the RWFG-LCrGoP throwing the fellow out on his ear. They haven't popped up yet.
Yes. One needs to dig a bit but there's news of a backlash. It's not just a random mouth -off but part of an election campaign. Calculated risk, perhaps. Stand by to be shocked when he wins.

It's really just an issue of timing that they have always used at their convenience.
Sure it's in a metaphor, but clearly, the King asks his followers to bring his enemies and slay them before him. And Jesus is King to them.
So when? Since to them, there are no morals (only commands), then when?
Their idol in one part says "it is good to go left to go right," and in the other says "those who went right were the good people and wound up in the left."
Clearly, they have fashioned a large log for their own eyes!
But the Title acts as a Headline and biases those who don't even read the article or post. It is why the race of criminal suspects are withheld from headlines.

apologetics: using common sense to change a belief to match observations.
lmao, and you call it bad ... ... people buying into that is as much an indicator of what regular people are up against as this pastor fellow even having a chance.
