Hey, did you let the guests inside the house know the barbecue is ready out here?
Yes.
You're sure they heard you?
Yes.
Are they coming to get some?
I don't know. I did my job. You said let them know the food is ready.
If you didn't care, you wouldn't keep posting this same basic message time after time after time.

I don't post a whole lot without being specifically asked, although I realize occasionally I'll do that.

When I'm asked clarifying questions, or challenges really, I am likely to answer them.

It doesn't mean I care whether I'm believed. Just doin' my duty of passing on the message. And that's where my duty - and interest - stops.

Fair enough. But in that case, you won't mind that I (a) doubt that you have actually been to Bermuda, (b) question if the picture of you climbing Mt Everest in Bermuda is staged, and (c) wonder what you ARE trying to accomplish here?*

*Just so there is no confusion, I am *NOT* suggesting that you should not be posting here or that your time is wasted or that there are better things for you to be doing (as you have suggested to atheist posters). It's just that you spend so much time telling us what you are NOT here to do.

She probably posts for similar reasons to you although, unlike her, you just seem to criticize posts and posters without adding much useful content.

Naturally you think that...since you're a poster I regularly criticize.

Usefulness of content is in the eye of the beholder. I don't find your offbeat mantra very useful.

I would disagree with your assertion that I ever told an athiest "there are better things for you to be doing" than posting here. I have wondered, out loud, out of curiosity, why people who are uninterested in a subject post in threads about a subject just to disagree with people who are interested in the topic.

There was a thread here earlier - it's wiped off this afternoon for some reason - about whether Gays have pushed it too far. There were people in that thread posting that they're so uninterested in discussing the whole gay thing, so over it, can't stand the topic.

What the hell. Why are you in that thread, I had to wonder, if you're sick and tired of hearing about gay people pushing for acceptance? And I was about to say that, too, and then the thread went whoosh.

Same thing. I wonder why people who have zero spiritual beliefs would hang out on a forum where the topic is discussing spiritual beliefs.

I honestly don't know why. But I never said they have better ways to spend their time. Just that it's interesting to me that they're drawn to a forum to discuss a topic they're AGAINST, rather than interested in.

Far be it from me to tell people they can't post on any forum.

Great experiences are personal. They are not Objective truth. They are not the same as claiming that something exists. If you had a great time in church (and Bermuda) that's fine. I'm not going to disagree with you.

Um, no. Actually. ??

I know where the door is.

There are a few very interesting conversations going on here, that keep drawing me back in. I don't need any help, thanks.

Also, I don't feel the apparent need to kiss up to all the posters on the forum.

People's beliefs are neither bothersome, or anyone else's business, unless they intrude on the lives of those who do not share those beliefs.

That intrusion is happening, primarily in the US of A with their fundies, and the Middle-East with theirs.

Blow-back from the rational should not be surprising.
