Since you are not an evangelical Christian, I happily answer your questions
I'm guessing that you were raised in a similar Christian tradition?

I've been thinking about this dynamic lately...

I'm not religious as most who know me in this forum are well aware. I'm an atheist, but if I were religious, truly believed in a God and my religion, I really don't think I could care less what anyone else thinks. Not to keep anyone from commenting what they like in this forum either way, but I am always somewhat puzzled by people who claim to be true believers and bother with others who are not. Unless perhaps they are trying to convert others?

As an atheist, I am not trying to convert others with my comments. In fact I have often noted there is little gained by shaking someone's faith, if in fact that were possible, but I do admit I can't help exchange opinion on what makes the most sense to believe all considered. For whatever any of that might be worth to anyone else...

I think it’s about superiority. I just made a new post about this.

I suspect it may have something to do with puzzlement. Think about how we feel when faced with a flat earther. We know the earth is a sphere! How can anyone possibly believe the is flat! Well, perhaps we appear to religious folks like a flat earther appears to us. Religious folks know for a fact that God exists!

It is our base of knowledge that controls what we can see as making sense or not and that is what produces the differences. You seem willing to make such common sense judgments on limited knowledge and brook no compromise when those with greater knowledge suggest that your common sense is misleading.

What makes you think that I grew up in a Christian household?

Some people tend to rebel against their particular religious upbringing.

I'm not interested in debating religion with you. This is a Religion and Spirituality forum. You said you are religious. I'm simply asking you what that religion is.

I had positive experience living in a Catholic neighborhood for 10 years before I immigrated to the US. My "rebellion" against Christianity is the result of dealing with American Christians when the issue of human rights is concerned. Reading the Bible and Bart Ehrman also help me realize that evangelical Christians are among the most toxic people and their belief is the second most dangerous ideology to minorities.

Yes, I said I am religious to someone's else.
You will know about my belief when I have a conversation with others. I don't like to explain to an evangelical Christian. I am allergic to Ray Comfort mentality in those people.
