ride a unicorn
tea pot
spaghetti monster
I don't want to talk about it because theist always ruin it.
Cultural indoctrination is probably as good an explanation as any,
Would you mind connecting these dots for me in the way you seem wanting to suggest?

Why is it so hard to have this conversation without insisting on deities, something more, being alive and spaghetti monsters? Tempted to ask if we can't "keep it real," but I guess what is real is also difficult for some to simply accept for what it is. Either we do or we don't or we're back to trying to ride a bike and a unicorn at the same time...

Not partly. I think the Buddha well understood what it seems you don't too well. Sometimes the train does slam into the wall. In deed it does. Eventually the truth about this too is revealed...

At some point you have to that on your own learn.

We are talking about ten truths as they relate to universal truths. Use how you look at what people are saying to list those in terms of "more true" to less "less true". And why, meaning how they relate to what people are saying is the truth.

add any others in there so we can have a look see at what you are calling "real truths".

Yeah, Buddha and jesus, they both have stuff I agree with and stuff that I don't.

I am ok with it being me.

What he is calling "real truths" or "universal truths" are a clearly defined concept but not so clearly demonstrated to actually exist. His reliance on the clarity of conceptual definition seems to blind him to the obstacles preventing any actual realization within our human consensus. It is a difficult conundrum to resolve.

I've tried on my own (though I don't have to), and all I get is the same repeat of the same broken record you play the same way over and over. I'd suggest you need try to do the same thing with regard to my Ten Truths that are what they are, verbatim. No hidden messages. No need to fill in the blanks or connect the dots.

You don't need to look very hard to understand what I am calling "real truths," but you sure do seem to try real hard to complicate the simple, over and over again. Why I wonder.

Agree, disagree, all fine either way, but without specifics, I can't really know where the problem may lie with any of my truths. Be specific. Where's your hang up (if I haven't already addressed it more than once). Venturing into your line of reason and logic instead, your words and puzzles, is perhaps better suited for a thread about what you want to focus on instead.

You think?

No, please, I mean honestly. Either we...

Ah heck. Why would you make me repeat what I already explained to you (comment #487)? Who is prevented from understanding what here? I've really got to ask in all sincerity as no doubt it's a good time for me to sign off from here again, so I can now move onto getting started with preparing our customary Big Sunday Breakfast.

Here's to a good Labor Day weekend all. Stay cool, as it's going to be a real barn burner in parts of the country like ours!
