This person lived around 1st century AD.

1. A supernatural being informed his mother the child she was to conceive , would not be a mere mortal, but would be divine.
2. He was born miraculously
3. As an adult, he left home and went on an itinerant preaching ministry, urging his listeners to live, not for the material things of this world, but for what is spiritual.
4. He gathered a number of disciples around him, who became convinced, that his teachings were divinely inspired, in no small part because he, himself, was divine.
5. He proved it to them, by doing many miracles, healing the sick, casting out demons, and raising the dead.
6. His enemies delivered him over to the Roman authorities for judgment
7. He reappeared in another place days later where he was seen by his followers, and convinced them that he was not really dead, but lived on in the heavenly realm.
8. Later some of his followers wrote books about him.

Apollonius of Tyana

Actually, it could be 9 or 10 people based on the Raglan scale but I'll go with Apollonius.

Fictional disciples can not write themselves into history.

Who was this person?
A fictional one. A Christian invention called Jesus of Nazareth. Other than being 'handed over' to the Romans by his enemies, it could fit Buddha's story. What's the purpose of the thread, by the way? I doubt if this was a pointless question to post.

That's a pretty odd claim. if Jesus was 'killed by an evil spirit', it must have been on God's intention for that to happen or it wouldn't have been allowed to happen. Unless you limit God's powers: - can't know everything and can't do everything. Which do you want it to be?

there are always claims somewhere else that match Jesus characteristics. I mean even claims about Confucius sometimes over lapped.

Since the word "rome" is in there I would say its about a person that was near them. Maybe that dude that lead the uprising after jesus? maybe somebody in Spain, Africa, Europe, or to the east of rome?

exactly.
Isn't it amazing, how much that historical figure fits into JC image?
I can't even stipulate, how much that historical figure could have been used as prototype for JC. That epoch scholars even argued, that Apollonius exceeds JC as divine being, based on his recorded miracles.
Also, sort of explains, why "original Aramaic texts" were so quickly adopted into Greek. Well, here you are - OEM Greek divinity, already catered to become foundation for a new religion. That was much more palatable to very pragmatic Greek minds of the time and, as such, to intellectual elite of that world, where Greek philosophy ruled.

Even term "Jesus Christ" could have, originally, described Apollonius as, JC is not really a name, it's more of a tile, like buddha. Enlightened. Could have been applied to any person that suited to be fit, then transitioned into a religion and attached to a different person.

Apparently, his followers did last for few hundred years and teaching was even used as counter weight to fast and furious progressing Christianity. didn't work. Apparently, whoever was spreading Christianity, had much better marketing force.

I knew all those YouTube "Jesus Never Existed" videos hadn't gone to waste.

5:52 mark: notice that Apollonius' god does not interfere in human affairs. It is a deist god. Perhaps this is why Apollonius did not catch on.
