The heading of this forum is misleading, as if discussion of organized religion such as Christianity is the same as discussion of spirituality. Many fruitless threads in this forum happens because the heading invites such confusion.
One can be a Christian or Muslim and also be spiritual. One can be spiritual and not practice any religion at all, or a little of this and a little of that. One can be religious and not get spirituality.
Discussion of Christianity for instance should be discussed in that forum and those who have problems with organized religion should take their arguments over there as well, in the respective religions.
If you have problems with spirituality, well try harder to understand. If it does not make sense to you, maybe it never will. Which is alright, you can live a good life without it.
Spirituality is not organized, number one.
There are as many practices of spirituality as there are individuals.
Spirituality is the act of striving, not one of knowing. So asking evidence for spirituality is like trying to make stone sing, about as foolish.
Spirituality sees the essence of all religion as the same - striving to know.
Applying principles of science to analyze spirituality is the same as analyzing the sense of beauty by applying the principles thermodynamics.
Spirituality is a way of seeing the world.
That's the reason for the two terms. One might say that religion is a subset or Spirituality, specifically directed to a specific claim - the 'god' -claim, just as atheism is a subset (not subsect ) of rationalism.
'Spirituality' covers those beliefs (and I think 'Beliefs' in the faith - based sense is the common factor) and so 'spirituality is the 'spiritual' beliefs that may not actually be Religious.

Many born again Christians also claim to be "non-religious", or not part of any organized religion as well.
Of course that claim is open to debate.
Seriously, till this date, I have not seen a uniform and standard and straight forward definition as to what exactly is spirituality?
“I don’t believe in Religion and God, but I am spiritual”
Really? what does it mean, and how it effects your day to day life?
How would you do things different in your day to day life if you were not spiritual?
Bring spiritual makes you cautious and conscious of what?
Being spiritual makes you cautious and conscious of what?
I don't know about cautious..
I could say conscious of what is 'not easily seen to the naked eye'...to the subtle...of a bigger picture considering
a soul's journey through many lives, (possibly for some)...
believing in or having exp'd what some call mystical or the unexplained.
Um, probably included could be a belief that the Spirit or the spiritual realms are part
of this physical world and can be communicated with and can also influence this world.
At the same time not belonging to or following dogmas or rituals of various religions..yet,
seeing the common denominator or thread in all the religions.
How come you say what I bolded?
Good second sentence.
I think perfect knowledge is achieved only by a few. The rest of us are always becoming, practicing. Those who have perfected I would say are the Buddha, Jesus.

None of this was said in the OP.
I am not sure I am spiritual yet or not, I am striving. Without that consciousness I would be ruled by my emotions, guilt, regrets. Meditation and seeking helps me keep them in control, be mindful.
There's idle by now lengthy thread here, on what exactly spiritual man is.
I think, those who are, they know. Those who are not, they are not. Understanding between the two is not possible as baseline of their communication is different. Hence, entering into discussion, they already do not understand each other.
I do agree with you, OP, that striving is part of it. Striving I am too. Always was, just - what's the good word - was lost for some time? By far I am not real adept. Not even real student or disciple. But I am really interested and taking baby steps. As Mosho Kokuchi said, It is better practice a little, than none at all.
As of acquiring superior knowledge, OP. It's diametrically opposite. One has to rid of all knowledge, as all knowledge is false and burden. There is no need for it. One that finally steps into The Light Of Consciousness, has immediate answer about any question he may have, as it is, by The Light. Humane knowledge only creates a barrier to that.
