I don't. And no Christian should. There is nothing special about me whatsoever. I didn't earn God's love, nor do I keep it by anything I do. I am a sinner, born into sin, and was a child of wrath from the beginning, just like everyone else. I am completely and woefully average.
Aw...I'm the child of a King. A Great Magnificent King, Creator of Galaxies and All That is.

I am, too....NOW. But I was born a child of wrath. I was born again a child of God based on nothing I did. NOTHING about me made me worth saving. God didn't "see potential", as some might say. But he chose to save me anyway.
So...why do they say religious people think they're special? You wouldn't call yourself religious, but you and I have different views of ourselves. The one of us that would be called "religious" (me) has a very low view of myself in my natural state.

Wow. That's genuinely sad, BF. I'm the child of a King, too, and was born that way.
The Bible says exactly the opposite. I mean, if we are going to use the Bible as our reference.
But again, the point I was making was that it's not "religious people" like me that think we're special. Because I'm not the one claiming to be born as some kind of special being.

But it looks as though you (True Believers all) are claiming to be 'special' because your faith makes you so. Be my guest and dispute the point.

Nope. My faith is not even of myself. I am not even smart enough to have recognized I needed a savior.
