I don't. And no Christian should. There is nothing special about me whatsoever. I didn't earn God's love, nor do I keep it by anything I do. I am a sinner, born into sin, and was a child of wrath from the beginning, just like everyone else. I am completely and woefully average.

I am, too....NOW. But I was born a child of wrath. I was born again a child of God based on nothing I did. NOTHING about me made me worth saving. God didn't "see potential", as some might say. But he chose to save me anyway.
So...why do they say religious people think they're special? You wouldn't call yourself religious, but you and I have different views of ourselves. The one of us that would be called "religious" (me) has a very low view of myself in my natural state.
