Each religion at least Islam and Christianity put a heavy burden on sin in particular sexual sin. It's wrong to have sex before marriage. It's wrong to look at women. It's wrong to masturbate or watch porn and if you do you're going straight to hell etc.

Why did God create humans in a way where we desire sex on a regular basis (at least most of us do) whole fully knowing so many people for whatever reason (be it loneliness, depression, self esteem, poverty) list goes on and on will not be good enough to get "married" at least officially and in a way that's righteous under God's eyes? Makes no sense. Mid 20s hormones raging. Still single. Probably never going to get married.

So why? I don't want the usual responses of "he creatwd you so you just worship him". I want told legitimate reasons why I was given no talents to succeed in life and then be burden with a really high sex drive that I cant use because I was born in poverty and trauma.

Masturbation is not a sin.

Neither is consensual sex between adults.

Shed those shackles of silly sins and enjoy your life.

It is not a sin, sexuality is a natural part of being human. Just like hunger and thirst it is also a need, and provides satisfaction to the body as does food and water.
What spirituality recommends is the control of our senses rather than let senses control us. We are not just our bodies, we also have a mind and an intellect, an inner life. When our body, mind and intellect are in balance, our life will also be balanced. A healthy mind in a healthy body will help you function better. Rich or poor this is true for everyone.
As for your condition of life, you are young. And apparently healthy. You may want to get some guidance on how you you can get the skills you need to get a good job and make a healthy life. You dont know what the future holds. All we can do is try.

This is why rational adults need to dump all the religious baggage that was loaded onto them in childhood into the trashcan. It's hard but it can be done. If it doesn't make sense to you then that's a clear indication all these ridiculous rules about sexual conduct were invented by hung-up frustrated old men who wouldn't know what to do with a woman if she stripped naked in front of them. All they did was write a book of rules that projected their own sexual inadequacies onto the rest of humanity. Misery loves company as they say.

Don't be tied down by these ancient cultural laws that don't mean a thing in today's society. If you need sex get some. Just do it hopefully with a loving partner and use protection, unless you can afford to bring up a child, or pay the bill when a doctor has to treat you for the clap.

Ive asked this same question before!

It almost seems like we are hard-wired for sinful behavior!

I find it a bit odd, that all the things people have 'strong desires' for, (and have to constantly pray for strength in order to resist temptation...)...its usually sinful in some way!?! Should it not be the other way around though?

Sex carried a heavy burden before birth control: kids. They’d have to be raised. STDs were a scourge too. Religious texts acknowledged that, and made sex a special category of sin.

That made really perfect sense then, as did much of religious teachings. Not so much now.

Exactly. If Jesus was really God he could have told the men about wrapping a sheepskin around their privates to protect their partner. Better, he could have just handed out penicillin. But of course he didn't know how to do ANY of this because he wasn't the son of God, he was just an ordinary man who didn't know any more than your average run of the mill ignorant goat herder down the block.

I have tried. Don't really see much positivity in the future. Not really skilled in anything.

I do not want children. Makes no sense how we have to fight urges which we were born with and as the above poster says, some might desire it as much as water. I desire it regularly if I could get it I would have it daily. I'm not getting nothing though unfortunately, lol. Might as well laugh at my own misfortune.

yeah it should. Why do we have to pray to resist temptation.

Interesting point and one I have never thought of.

I wouldn’t get quite so derogatory, but essentially yeah. We know more now about sex, how to prepare meat, why it’s not good to kill, etc. Religious texts served a very valuable purpose in teaching behavior because of past experience and with some other form of promised and absolute punishment for transgression.
