102. Not to have intercourse with another man's wife (Lev. 18:20) (CCN124).

It seems these are getting more restrictive by the day!

Maybe the intention is not to get more restrictive. Most people know not to sleep with another man's wife. Of course, it doesn't mean it won't happen.

Maybe the intention is to "spell out" the expectation.

Hard to guess...

Also hard not to think there are better ways all considered. More in keeping with what I would imagine more divine like, but what continues to linger on my mind most of all is why these particular commandments that God supposedly chose for these specific people as compared to how other religions, ethnic groups, cultures addressed the same sort of issues. Again, I'm not aware of anything in terms of other scripture that comes even close to this.

Moses goes to meet god.
He returns and is met by excited crowd of Israelites.
Moses climbs up a podium, quiets the crowd and says
I have good news and I have bad news.
Give us the good news!
I manage to negotiate 613 to only ten!
Crowd explodes in cheers.
Well, now the bad news.
Now, we are allowed only one wife.

Do you consider Joseph Smith a sage? All who have been deemed "messengers of God?" Or are you a bit more discerning than that? Hope so and if so, how so?

104. Not to have intercourse with a beast (Lev. 18:23) (CCN117).

This was no doubt a heart-breaker too...

I see it as the Jewish Sages saw it...
