Las Vegas real estate mogul and CEO of space station module startup Bigelow Aerospace Robert Bigelow is offering up $1 million in prizes for evidence of “the survival of consciousness after permanent bodily death,” The New York Times reports.
Bigelow, a billionaire who has also raised eyebrows for investigating UFO sightings, recently founded the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies to support research into what happens after we die.

To me, Bigelow should do research the same as did the people of Acts 17:11 who researched, searched the Scriptures daily to see if what they were learning was what the Bible really teaches.
I think Jesus well answers the belief if there is life after death at John 11:11-14.
Jesus was well educated in the old Hebrew Scriptures which also teach ' sleep ' (Not life in death )
Please notice -> Psalms 6:5; Psalms 13:3; Psalms 115:17; Isaiah 38:18; Ecclesiastes 9:5
If there was an ' afterlife ' then the conscious dead would need No resurrecting because the dead would be alive.
The living do Not need to be resurrected but the sleeping dead do.
Since we can't resurrect oneself or anyone else is why we need someone to resurrect us. Jesus can and will - Rev. 1:18.
At death we say ' goodnight ' until ' Resurrection Day '(Jesus' Millennium-Long Day of governing over Earth for a thousand years)
