History: We had just had a child in 1984 so not quite 1 yet so we fit the young family model. It was not until 4 1/2 years later that we, as a young family, began attending church at one of these churches on Church Row.

Today, the church we belong to is buying the land from one of the others to expand again.

Still, 4 remain.

Reading about the growth back then - and it would continue for the next 15 years at least - was quite a history lesson but we lived it.

Happy Easter Everyone!

But is Easter a Christian celebration ________
In order to establish an authentic artifact attention is given to: details.
First, Jesus specified to remember his day of death - Luke 22:19-20.
Easter traditions have little to do with Jesus' death and resurrection.
Easter is about old folk customs and Not Scripture.
The non-biblical celebration of the ' Resurrection of Spring '.
To try to ' Christianize " the pagans false teachers made it easier to associate pagan-festival ideas with Jesus.
Putting Jesus' death and resurrection on a pagan calendar helped smoothed the way for pagan mass conversion.
Jesus' death from the Jewish calendar was the 14th day of the spring month of Nisan.
Just as with modern calendars a wedding anniversary does Not always fall on a Friday or a Sunday.
So, the anniversary of Jesus' death and resurrection can't always fall on a Friday and a Sunday.
The result is: that ' Easter ' is Not a real Christian celebration even though Bible names were added to it.
- 2nd Corinthians 6:14,17

Do you know of a single human being who is celebrating Easter as a pagan holiday??? I doubt it very much. No one celebrating Easter is in any way celebrating any pagan holiday!!! Your organization believes utter nonsense.

Easter is indeed a pagan celebration. The celebration is about the rebirth of life after the winter and is named after the goddess Eostre.
Quote:
“Bede wrote that the month in which English Christians were celebrating the resurrection of Jesus had been called Eosturmonath in Old English, referring to a goddess named Eostre. And even though Christians had begun affirming the Christian meaning of the celebration, they continued to use the name of the goddess to designate the season.”

That's why it's a celebration. If it was a about Jesus then it would be a mourning.

I should have worded it "Do you know of a single Christian who is celebrating Easter as a pagan holiday??? I doubt it very much. No Christian celebrating Easter is in any way celebrating any pagan holiday!!! Your organization believes utter nonsense."
