What we have here folks, is a failure of basic logic. Stating that something is a belief, i.e. that you hold a belief, in no way, shape, manner or form mandates that said belief somehow morphs into "truth". It may or may not be truth.

I am sure Gldn understands that fully. After all, what adult wouldn't. But I think he feels he can pull a fast one on the forum, as if we were children or had a child's mentality.
What we have here folks is the classic Strawman. Gldn's opponents have pointed out that a dictionary definition, especially on that is non-mainstream is not EVIDENCE or PROOF of the EXISTANCE of that which is being defined. For example, M. Pele, Hawaiian goddess of the volcano. She has a definition in every single dictionary there is, BUT, those definiitions don't constitute proof that she is REAL.
Now along comes the strawman and improperly redfines OUR position inferring that his change constitutes our position. We never said or inferred that dictionaries are NOT a "legitimate source of data to obtain the meanings and definitions of words & terms." That is Gldn's strawman. His on words, not ours.
There is another word for a strawman - it's a LIE, a misrepresentation of what your opponents position is.
I was working towards a new era of civiliity on this forum, but Gldn, you seem not to want to play along, and issue lies about us instead.
Please issue a retraction and correction soonest.
