Does believing in any of these stories make one look foolish? The answer to that question depends entirely on the individual's personal perspective on reality. Which tends to be dictated by their particular lifetime of religious upbringing.
For millennia we have been devoid of the kind of knowledge that would be necessary to understand God. The fact that our ignorance bred such fables and stories in some effort to make sense of what we otherwise have an inner sense is true - God exists - is excusable on that basis alone. There is little excuse for retaining the fables and stories when our knowledge has expanded beyond that of the originators of the narratives.

Science has been producing knowledge about Reality (God) at a prodigious rate, so we now are in a better position to try to understand God. I have much of that knowledge and used it for precisely that purpose.
Knowledge is Consciousness that always exists. It is not produced, it is. It is limitless. We become aware by means of our body mind complex that is illuminated by consciousness. What we know, and understand, is limited only by our own body, mind, intellect. The clearer and sharper our means of inquiry, the brighter is the illumination. When we transcend the limited body-mind-complex we are one with Consciousness, pure and complete knowledge. That is the Bliss. That is all that remains.
According to whom? Our entire Reality is God and science has been producing knowledge about it at a prodigious rate.
This claim is entirely devoid of evidence. These isn't a scintilla of evidence that "Reality is God" or that science is producing evidence about God. Utter nonsense.
