Meh, it wasn't much of a burden or problem when everything worked correctly. Although my first wife was pretty hung up on how gross all that is and why god would make us that way, so there's probably no shortage of people who imagine a glorified body not only free of disease and pain but also from excretion. If you're going for magic then you might as well take it all the way!

Actually this is an interesting question and concept.
People also die at different ages, not everyone makes it to old bones.
Most Christians believe they are given a renewed, youthful body in heaven.
But this body is a spiritual body or soul, not an earthly one.
I am not as sure about seeing all those we knew on earth again.
Some Christians also believe that we are “wiped of the memories” of those that didn’t make the grade into Heaven. (be that eternal Hell or Annihilation or whatever)

Not referring to you, but a general comment about this post.
Folks who see their loved ones, see them at around the 35 years old mark, but I dont think it matters unless you ascribe the same physicality as we have on Earth - which is doubtful. The nearest thing we have to 'proof' is the NDEs and OBEs which people report, but of course, you have to believe those people who are reporting it. If you dont, then nothing will offer any proof and so their testimony or reports are useless.
Maybe I am gullible, but I tend to think there is something in those reports where people are reporting stories which have common features. Stories from people who dont know each other and have not heard each others reports.
If our reality is made up of multidimensions, then it would make sense to have one body per dimension and from a different dimension or perspective, this body would have different characteristics. It would explain ghosts, angels and all kinds of paranormal stuff.
If we reincarnate into another human lifetime, then it would also make sense to start with a 'clean slate' of memory for most people as remembering what you were last time would place a pretty large burden on you this time around.
Some big IFs I agree.

From my understanding of the next world, the spirits appear as real as humans. As the older spirits progress in their soul development, they become younger looking and also there is no appearance of race. The younger spirits from babies to the teen years "grow up" over there. All spirits become "adult-like" at some point.
The other cool thing about spirits is that they communicate with each other with their thoughts. No need for cell phones! They also play musical instruments the same way.
"Thoughts" are a very big deal in our next life. Our thoughts and memories do go with us and aren't wiped away after we leave our physical bodies. If we have experienced remorse from things we have said or done here, that's a good thing. We don't want to experience it there, as we may be in darkness for a period of time... either short or long.
Note, my belief is that hell isn't eternal. Rather it's a place of purgatory - to face our sins and ask for forgiveness. That's something I prefer to do now before I leave this earth.
One more thing, we each have a soulmate, who we will eventually meet and will be our partner. And we will experience the feeling of real True Love.

I’ve heard too many near death experiences… not to believe them
Heaven is a beyond beautiful place where the flowers are singing
And eventually we get reincarnated again
For heaven on earth….or my heaven on earth
Is
Playing golf, eating a tomahawk rib eye or lobster
With an open bar…, with my son and my lady
I do know that spirits do live on .. I’ve had a few undeniable experiences

From what I've read, spirits don't actually eat or drink, because obviously there are no organs for digestion. And their homes, which are as substantial as the homes we have here, don't have a kitchen or bathroom... no need for those.
However, there is an assortment of fruits and nuts the spirits enjoy by "inhaling" or "breathing in" their aromas. They also enjoy pure water the same way.
As for sleep, they take short restful naps.
Finally, they are party "people" with their best friends. They dance, sing and enjoy each other's company.

OMG...Yes! You must have read all the many books I have and also NDEs!
And don't forget their homes have no DUST!
I've seen the Other Side and my very first crazy thought was...
''Well, this is as clean as Toronto!'' I swear - first thought.

Yay! lol!
Speaking of "thoughts," I've read that's how spirits transport themselves. For instance, they will contact a friend with a thought - "Are you home?" - the friend hears their thought and responds - "Yep, come on over!" In an instant, they're in the same room.

Oh yeah. You've read Jonathon L. Seagull right? And the movie 'Made in Heaven' with Timothy Buttons? It's like that, yeah.
And Anthony Borgia's, free online: Life in the Unseen World? The best.
Then, for others, the James E. Padgett messages.
And again, for others here, anything by Chico Xavier....if someone want to get an idea of the Afterlife.
