Allah does not mean God. Allah is the name of the God in Islam. Just like the the name of God of is Yahweh in Judasim.

Non-Arab muslims don't call their God God but Allah.

God in Arabic does not mean Allah but Ilah.

God means Ilah in Arabic.

Encyclopedia Britannica says "Allah is the standard Arabic word for God and is used by Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews as well as by Muslims"

Allah is an unique name in Islam. Just like Yahweh is an unique name in Judusim.

All muslims say Allah since it is an unique name of God in Islam.

Muslims say that the only Ilah is Allah. There is no other Ilah.

I am from Turkey and Tanrı means God in Turkish. However muslims in Turkey don't use that word since they believe unique name of God must be used, which is Allah.

A christian or a deist will use the word Tanrı instead of Allah in Turkey.

My point is, Allah is an unique name just like Yahweh.

God is a general name, not an unique name.

Ilah in Arabic is the same as God in English. Ilah is a general name.

Christians in Arabic speaking countries refer to God as Allah.

I don't think God cares what name you use for Him.

"God" is not a name...nobody or nothing is named "God".
"God" is a title, a descriptor...like "King", "Hero", "Friend", "Doctor", etc.

Allah is an unique name while God is not. And non-arab muslims use the word Allah instead of refering to it as God in their language so they do care.

Edit:

As I said, Tanrı means God in Turkish but muslims use the word Allah in Turkey because it is an unique name of God in Islam. Many are against the word Tanrı, which means God in Turkish. The reason is, Allah is a specific God while Tanrı (God) is a general term.

In Old Greek Religion, Zeus is a God too but Zeus and Allah are different Gods.
