But atheists don't need religion to fight each other. That's why you guys have politics, no?
That is essentially correct yes. Sects are impossible even if we wanted them. And we don't just have politics, we have literally 100% of all the possible topics to discuss or (dis)agree about other than atheism -- which is 99.99999% of what is discussable.

Man tends to compartmentalize or form sects for his own survival, and atheism is no different. For example, some authorian-styled atheists realize they are essentially claiming absolute knowledge, so to keep the ball in play, they claim the additional position of agnosticism. Or some clusters might openly discourage any belief in an afterlife or paranormal. You can leave it to man to technically complicate a steel ball.

More to the point: definitionally one either does or does not believe in even one deity, so one either is or is not an atheist. There is literally nothing to argue ABOUT with respect to atheism.

Thousands of pages of posts here on CD with atheists arguing yes about atheism, definitively and conclusively demonstrate otherwise.

I understand the sect that resides here has gone so far as to redefine agnosticism.

And if you tried to list these arguments, I believe they will actually be about something else, not atheism itself.

Which sect, the one that does not believe in gods, or the one that does not believe in gods. Or that other sect, you know, the one that does not believe in gods, which is different to the other two not believing in gods sects.

It is probably the "we" sect. The "we" sect tends to know the ultimate truth and wants to parent the rest of humanity whether or not society desires this type of oversight is irrelevant.

Just a normal humane duality stemming from ignorance. BTW, goes both ways, as both theists, as they are, and a-theists, as they are, are ignorant on what it really is and how it is. Myself included. At least, I am aware, that I know nothing.
