You read that on the internet and you believed them. Have they found Philo, Justus of Tiberius or Pliny the Elder's bodies?

I found this analysis of Christianity to be very telling:

"The tribal Middle Eastern values of the bible are much like what's found in the Taliban--a brutal, misogynistic, and male dominated organization which protects the hierarchy of power, fearing their members receiving too much education lest the power of blind faith they so heavily promote fails at keeping them subservient to Jesus. The church mixes in a lot of magic thinking like praying and spiritual warfare and discouraging battered spouses from pursuing a divorce proceeding so that "appearances" can be kept up at the cost of damaged lives. The hypocrisy is rampant but such hypocrisy doesn't discourage those in power from pursuing it. This whole fantasy and pretend gives the power over those that are ensnared in its clutches, and there's always threats of either God or the devil harming you in some way, but nothing ever happens to the abused who decide to escape or to the abusers who never fail to collect on their salaries or bask in the praises heaped upon them."

Yes, but God saw fit to allow the Veda to be written first. Does God favor the Hindus at the expense of his own people?

Methinks you place too much importance on *the written word*.

There is more to God, religion, and history than what men have written down.

God sent His Son for 'all' of humanity --- not just an elite group.

I'd say you're the one with the myopic view.

You like to believe the stories told by christians back in ancient times as they sat around a campfire.

Gee, maybe they were wrong and it was the Buddhists sitting around a campfire and telling ancient stories that were right.

Or maybe it was the ancient Greeks sitting around a campfire telling ancient stories that were right.

Or Romans.

Or Aztec Indians.

Or the Shoshones.

Or the Hindus.

Or dozens of other cultural groups.

What has that got to do with the discussion?

Oh I know...it's called grasping at straws.

Well some Christian groups, notably Calvinists, would disagree on that one too.
