These things are impossible to do after bodily death. We can't perform good deeds in our bodies if our soul is separated from it and our body lies useless and dead in the grave.

Our Spirit does not die. It simply leaves this physical womb (our body) so it has all the capabilities to change as it does while in the body.
I agree that the soul (or spirit as you call it) does not die. However, your conclusion is in disagreement with the overwhelming consensus of the Fathers and the testimony of the Church. I realize that that fact means nothing to you.

Human birth and body is an opportunity to collect good karma to offset bad karma. But this opportunity is wasted if having born a human a person still dos not seek moksha, liberation, salvation.
In Hindu thought the spirit is already pure, already brilliant, and everlasting. To understand we are our spirit and not our body that is time bound takes effort, study, knowing, and worship as offering of love to the spirit within. Yes, each being needs to seek.
