Well when the church allowed marriage and the bishops and priests made their routes they impregnated half the women in their congregations. Damned If You Do...Damned If You Don't!

What amazes me is how "miracles" nobody seems to have noticed during the person's lifetime are suddenly discovered. I wonder if it's in how you define that word?

I dont understand how people buy into this. How can a bunch of old men decide that someone who has died is a saint? And what does it mean in the grand scheme of things? So what if someone decides he is a saint? Who does it impact and how? What is the big deal?

Its just a bunch of self-righteous, strangely dressed, power mad, old men playing childish games.

The whole thing sickens me. The whole corrupt disgusting bunch of them covering up their vile filthy sexual crimes and they have the audacity to pronounce one of their own a saint (almost).

I cannot wait til the whole thing comes crumbling down and the Roman Catholic Church is exposed for the scam it truly is.

The evidence required for a miracle seems laughable. The typical miracle seems to be that somebody, somewhere is sick, sends a prayer to the dead pope, and gets better. Bam, you have a miracle.

This despite the fact that people get better on their own, there is no proof that the intercessory prayer had any effect, or was even really offered.

Circumstantial evidence at best, and it is thin circumstantial evidence at that.

This is a mindset I will probably never be able to understand (then again, I get written off as a "non-believer," so I guess I shouldn't be surprised!) Why would someone pray to a dead pope? Wouldn't you think that praying to the current holder of the title might get better results?

I agree. Its also about time we stop giving these dens of inequity tax exempt status. I would love to see Pope Benedict on trial for conspiracy to conceal deviate sexual assault. Lets seee him pray his way out of that one. Pedophile enabler that he is.
