This, to me, highlights exactly why we do need God's governance over the humans on earth. He is our creator, the only one who can solve ALL of the problems plaguing the earth.
Your statement is actually a contradiction.
First you're saying that people are the only ones responsible. No god Involved. Period. Correct?
Then you're saying that we need God's Governance. Why? How will this god that is not involved fix anything?? If he can actually fix anyting, he should have done it a looooong time ago.
So, my conclusion is this: People are the ONLY ones who are responsible, in good times and bad times. People are the ONLY ones who can change things, for better of for worst. People are the ONLY ones who should be blamed/praised for thing they do. Not God, He does Not Exist.
Do you want God to control your life, or are you happy you have free will?
If you walk into Walmart and see something you want, do you want God to strike you down if you reach for it, because it was made in a factory which employs children in slave conditions?
Do you want God to make your cigarettes disappear as soon as you buy them because the second-hand smoke is making your child ill?
Do you want God to cause your favorite pink and brown spotted pants to be ruined at the cleaners, because He knows that someone is going to be distracted on the street when they see them and walk into the path of an oncoming car?
Etc, etc, etc... the possibilities are endless.
We are the ones responsible for the starving child. May God forgive us. And may we all try to help in whatever way we can.
I would certainly want God to take control if I were starving to death with a buzzard following me, or if I were directly causing that of an innocent child.
Maybe if God did those things you described, the world would actually be a decent place. Instead he sits back with a bowl of popcorn and waits for people to die so he can go over the list of everything they did in their lives and judge them. That, or he doesn't exist, which makes a lot more sense.
I agree. In fact, God was the only one with that child when she died. She fell asleep in His arms. WE are the ones who forsook her.
Finally, someone who really understands this whole sad business. Isn't it disheartening how many people there really are in this world floundering with misinformation and misunderstanding about our loving God?
Of course not, your God is watching our for the Vulture.
OUR God is watcing out for all of us.
I really feel sorry for all of you struggling so hard with the concept that GOD IS LOVE. Nothing bad comes from him. For your sakes I really do hope you'll understand this one day.
I cannot justify what God feels is right or wrong...period. He is God and as such does not require that he justify himself to his people. Thats why so many people have a hard time understanding and believing in his existence.
Then why does He state that we are made in His image, given his qualities of love and justice supposedly. Why does He impose a set of morals on us and then act in a way that is immoral to us?
For example, he punishes the innocent for the guilty ones crimes, e.g. David and Bath-Sheba's baby, oh, and all of mankind (including that child in the photo)for what Adam and Eve did. He says lying is detestable and yet allows Jacob to lie to His father Isaac to get the birthright. He also lies himself when he states that he doesn't punish the sons for the fathers sins.
Christians adhere to a set of morals laid down in the Bible, but whenever God bends or breaks his own laws, Christians trot out the mystery of God or an answer like the above. How does anyone really know Him or what His real values are?
I am actually in awe at the lengths that people are willing to go to to preserve their idea of god.
Whenever god forsakes a starving child, its not his fault, its mans.
Whenever god is incapable to prevent a natural disaster, its not his fault, its mans.
Whenever god punishes an individual for the actions of another, its not his fault, its mans.
I find it despicable that people are willing do degrade, deface, and demoralize humanity for the sole purpose of keeping the idea of god intact. Sure humans are in no way perfect, but we don't need the idea of a god thing to give humanity any more reason to loathe itself.
I agree. In fact, God was the only one with that child when she died. She fell asleep in His arms. WE are the ones who forsook her.
Were?were was that coward of a God of yours? If he was any kind of decent God he would have let the child live and enjoy the world he created, but instead he lets the child suffer and then die, what a great God!He sounds more like a sadist to me.Did he make the earth too big for him to handle?Did he spend too much time and attention on the better developed parts of the world? Now for a long time most parts of the world have been well developed,so why doesn't he go and sort the bad developed parts of the world out now?He won't!This problem has been on going now for a long time.He was supposedly the creator of earth so why doesn't he create something that could help the third world people?I mean this is the father of Jesus,JESUS the guy who could supposedly turn water into wine and perform miracles,i'm sure he can handle a little problem like starvation.
