What could possibly anger god more than people loving each other?
Diseases, poverty, wars, exploitation, hatred, famine...obviously, all acceptable to god. But it seems that god certainly flies into a divine rage when people love (whatever form they choose) each other.
To god himself, I would apply one of “his” own verses; “If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out”!

As long as the love is not illicit, nothing pleases God more than people loving each other - whether it be brotherly love, or family love or society

The opening of your sentence states the restriction.
I don't place restrictions on love, god does.

Illicit is a term coined by modern man. I would hope God would look into the hearts of those who love and not worry about legal terms.

But...surely any society would frown on say a love affair between two people equally married? Just to name one such love..

"For the wages of sin is death." No one gets off this earth scott-free. Heaven and eternal bliss are not an entitlement to man, but a gift.
