If you're going to believe in an all powerful God than you do your God a disservice if you think Satan can actually take over the weather once in awhile. Obviously, if Satan can control the weather here and there for destructive purposes, your God must not be as powerful and divine as you believe.

Do your theology research, and you will find God gave up control of the weather centuries ago. he doesn't cause the storms that take lives, but He will intervene if His people pray to Him for protection.

Yup, Satan did it.

What's so hard to understand that God created this world with systems and functions just like the rest of creation. When you get the flu or break a bone is that Satan? When a tree falls down and kills a baby deer is that Satan? Why do you have to assign blame or credit for everything when it is just part of natural processes? Where does it say that creation is PERFECT in the way you describe, that there will be no hail on wheat fields or volcanoes exploding above towns or floods raging along riverbanks or hurricanes devastating cities...???

In Greek Mythology Zeus controlled the weather. Of course that was before we understood meteorology. It's funny that in this age and age you still need to assign a god (or devil) to over see bad weather and natural disasters.

Now how would you explain the much needed soaking rain that causes landslides? Wild fires, earth quakes, mudslides, does God hate California? Take a look at Arizona, a state that rarely sees rain. Is Arizona blessed by God? Why would God favor Arizona over California?

It's just ridiculous to even be having this discussion in the twenty first century. A hurricane is a well understood phenomenon that is fueled by warm ocean waters and quickly dissipates as it reaches land. While it's still difficult to predict it's path and how powerful it will become that is also improving every year. Blaming a natural disaster on an evil invisible being is just laughable.

It may be laughable to you but there are times when it makes sense to blame Satan. I had 3 siblings growing up so there was always somewhere to point the finger when mom wanted to know who tied a piece of bologna to the dogs tail or who left little sister stranded at the top of the swing set or who pulled off the little rubber tips on her hair pins. What about the families with only one child? I say let Satan take the rap cuz everyone knows how evil he is and mom can't smack him from the front seat of the station wagon. "Satan did it!!!" Other than that, it's ridiculous.

Hmm...you equate bad things in your life with bad weather? Interesting. Doesn't have anything whatever to do with the idea of Satan, but interesting all the same. (Also, you say "I know." Shouldn't that be more like "I believe?")

Just wondering, do you take responsibility when you screw-up or do you blame Satan?
