I didn't think anything of them until my son took over 300 pictures during his trip in Germany. None of the pictures had orbs except for the one taken at Dachau in a room with oven chambers. The amazing thing is there are two rooms with oven chambers at Dachau. My son took photos of both. One of the oven rooms was never used and no orbs were on those pictures. The room where the ovens had been used had a number of orbs!

Somewhere along the line someone equated the appearance of orbs in photographs with spirits of some kind. I do not really think that is the case. I think that the orbs are simply some kind of light refraction that occurs under some circumstances within the camera. I have a photo of my living room where an orb is present. There is no spiritual connection between my living room and anything. I think it is just a light anomaly.
Thanks. However, it is quite coincidental that the only photo out of over 300 that had orbs on it was in the oven room that had been used.
Were they in EVERY shot of that room in approximately the same location? It would seem that in over 300 photos, particularly of a locale where so many people came to an unfortunate end, that, if they were symbolic of spirits, there would be orbs all over the place. The fact that they appear only in ONE room (possibly only in one shot), only serves to reinforce the concept that they have nothing to do with spirits. Otherwise, practically *every* photograph - certainly of Dachau, at the very least, should be crawling with them.
Too bad you didn't do any EVPs because *that* would have been very interesting! I do not believe that EVPs are spirits either, but the captured sound waves of a previous time. It has been proven, scientifically, that sound waves never completely go away, but instead simply get farther and farther apart (think of a pebble dropped in a pond).
My son had a graduation ceremony from a parochial school in an old Catholic Church. Both I and my ex-husband took pictures with separate cameras. We got the same orbs (Same sizes and same positions relative to the angle of the camera) on pictures taken of the ceremony.

Is it really coincidence? Methinks not. Different light angles/sources enhanced a dirty lens. *shrug* It just happened to be in that one room.
