Dawkins doesn't even have the guts to go debate Ray Comfort.

Hitchens and Dawkins are really not that great of philosophers...they are both intelligent men, but they really don't have any new, amazing arguments that haven't been shot down already.

Are you familiar with the expression "beating a dead horse"?

I was thinking more along the lines of this quote:

Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something.
- Plato

I think Dawk wants to spare Ray-Ray any further embarrassment after seeing the infamous "Banana Video".

If the Brothers Grimm stories were in the Bible, they'd believe in those being true, too.

The Bible loses credibility to me in the verse part where it takes 7 days to make Earth. This creature is all powerful. Shouldn't take that long, shouldn't need to rest (it implies the creature is biological and flawed, not omniscient). Lastly, the days were measured by what scale? Aren't days the time it takes the Earth to rotate? The earth wasn't around yet, so what was a "day"?

The Garden of Eden is another huge hole. The Ressurrection, all those things that we wouldn't beleive in anyone doing in today's world.

I just don't buy it , sorry.

The bible is "God breathed", brothers grim is not. We did not include everything in the bible, the books were selected because they were being used as scripture in the church. That is how canonization worked.

The earth was created before everything on it or in the heavens. A day is a revolution of the earth. So each day of creation week was one revolution of the earth. In other word each creation day was a 24 hr period of time.

It says that God rested on the 7th day. God does not need to rest, the bible explains that the sabath (7th day) was created for man. So God gave us an example of what to do, not because he needed rest, but because we do.

God could have created everything instantly. But there are many reasons why he created the way and in the order that he did.

What is the problem with the Garden? Do you have a garden? What is wrong with the resurrection? Cannot God make alive that which is dead? He put life into the dust of the earth to make man in the first place, how much more a body already formed, giving life back into it?

The good news is that the bible is the Word of God and is eternal. Science is ever changing ideas of man. So, the science of today will be forgotten tomorrow. Science will eventually pass away.

I wish you could see your own words from a non-religious point of view. You don't help your case any. No offence btw, just saying.
