As previously posted the readers of the Bible should understand the terms Sheol, Hades (hell) and Gehenna. Once the terms are understood it will also be helpful to think about how the people in those days (with respect to Gehenna) would have understood the use of such terms.

Gehenna-(a form of the Hebrew Ge himmon meaning Valley of Himmon). Jesus talked about Gehenna and his audience would have understood. This was a location outside of Jerusalem which functioned as a garbage dump. No doubt the fires were kept burning to mitigate the stench and keep vermin at bay. Not only was trash and waste deposited there but also the bodies of criminals who committed abominable crimes and were considered unfit for burial. Thus it was a fitting symbol of eternal destruction. No scripture ever talks about resurrection from Gehenna. Some other verses speak to eternal destruction (annihilation/non existence) or the second death in the lake of fire (again symbolic because death and hades are said to be thrown into the lake of fire so just how would that work... eternally tormenting death and hades...thus one can deduce it's not a literal place) Revelation 20:14-15. This is also the place that Satan will be cast (again the place is symbolic it's not a literal fiery place because Satan is a spirit creature and spirit creatures are not flesh that burns).

Sheol or Hades (Hell in the KJV). I've heard it described as the abode of the dead or the common grave of mankind...take your pick. In contrast to Gehenna those in Sheol Hades (hell) can be resurrected. See scriptures such as Acts 2:31, Acts 24:14, Revelation 20:13. Job 14:13-15 is of interest because Job actually says he'll wait out his time in Sheol until the appointed time (a time for him to be resurrected).

Death-what does the Bible say? The definition of death is to "return to the dust" For reference see Genesis 3:19, Psalm 6:5, Psalm 115:17, Ecclesiastes 3:20; 9:5,10 etc

People who have died both good and bad are waiting for resurrection. See John 11:11-14, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 1 Corinthians 15:18. God will empty out the tombs John 5:28, Revelation 21:4, Revelation 20:13-14

Hopefully people can get a better understand about "hell" what it is and what it's not.

Beating the devil? Literally?
If the prophets are correct, hell will be populated by billions (counting over the centuries) of condemned people. Looking at this way, satan and his handful of helpers are pathetically outnumbered. Powers or not, not even the most brutal of thugs could stand a chance against mobs of millions!
When a devil starts tormenting one of our own, we’ll all jump in and beat the living crap out of that devil. Then the next one, the next one, and so on, until the few remaining are running frantically to escape. We’ll just hunt them all down until none are left. Then hell will be in our hands.
What do we have to fear? It’s satan who should trembling just at the thought of this possibility.
It may be a good idea to be prepared. If you feel you’re fixin’ to die, have a hammer in your hand, a hatchet, or something that can be used as weapon.
Since there's no such entity as Satan, you'd be fighting with an imaginary enemy.

Truth for all people - There are no devils and no satan

If you think you'll be able to have fun reveling in sins, you're in for a surprise. You'll be like the outcast at a party-the one who gets all the pain and humiliation. And they’ll do to you whatever you hate the most. How do you feel about someone you abhor. That's how demons feel about you, but they have no human kindness in them whatsoever. Every human has it unless they are worse than a serial killer. Compared to a demon, serial killers seem kind because at least they kill their victim at one point, ending their torment but in hell there is no end.
not according to all those "documentaries" about hauntings and such on non fiction cable TV stations like Discovery and Learning Channel. If a demon appears, it runs in fear from someone saying a simple prayer.
And this is on a documentary channel so it has to be 100% true, right ?

Yeah, I always get a laugh out of those shows. People use Bible verses and Christian rituals to "cleanse" or "exorcise" or whatever -- people who have no training or standing whatsoever with any Christian church, which supposedly provides the "connections" to god and his authority that would be required for "taking authority over" evil spirits to be effective. They use it almost like Voodoo practitioners, who believe that a correctly invoked ritual is like pressing a button with an inevitable result. Anyone with an actual understanding of Christian theology would laugh them to scorn. Much less anyone with an actual understanding of logic and reason.

Why Can’t We Hell Bound Souls Just Mutiny Against Satan In Hell?
Because Satan is not, and never will be, in charge in hell. He's not leading demons to torment those who are there. Hell is not Satan's kingdom. That's the Hollywood stereotype. (Those same actors and actresses who you love now from movies like Rapture Palooza and This is the End, etc., you will curse later.) Satan will be tormented there, too. Satan is not equal to God, just evil instead of good. Satan is a created being who is not omnipotent or omniscient or omnipresent.

Revelation 20:10, "And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

God is in charge of hell. Jesus is referring to God in Luke when He said,

Luke 12:4-5, "I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!"

Only God has that authority. God alone holds the keys.

Revelation 1:18, "and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades."

As a matter of fact, Satan hasn't even BEEN to hell yet. Matthew 25:14 says that it's a place that was originally created to punish and torment Satan and his demons. It's not a kingdom for him to rule. Again, look at Revelation 20:10, "And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

Until Satan is finally judged by God and thrown into the pit of fire forever, he lives between heaven and earth, according to Job 1:6-12 and 1 Peter 5:8.

But he's not always going to be free to move around like this and he knows it.

Revelation 12:12, "For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”

But, most importantly, those who are cast into hell will never be in any condition to "overthrow" anything. Hell will be a place of unending, eternal suffering and torment without any hope, relief, or escape.

Now is the time for all to repent and believe the gospel. The return of Christ is very soon and God's mercy and patience are coming to an end. Every person will have made their choice. And every person is responsible for the consequences of their choices. Even if you claim not to believe any of this, that's a choice. How sure are you?

Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
