For a child has been born to us, a son given to us, and the authority was placed upon his shoulder, and his name wascalled Wondrous Adviser, the Mighty God, the Everlasing Father, the Prince of Peace. To him who increases the authority, and for peace without end, on David's throne and on his kingdom, to establish it and to support it with justice and with righteousness; from now and to eternity, the zeal of the Lord of Hosts shall accomplish this.
Incorrect Christian tranlastion;
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given unto us; and the Government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Here is another example of changing the Hebrew from the past tense (BTW this is talking about Hezekiah, and his name means The Mighty God in Hebrew) to the future tense, to make it appear to be talking about Jesus in the future.
Zechariah 12:10 Correct translation;
And they shall look to Me because of the one who was thrust through, and they shall mourn over him as one mourns over an only son...
Incorrect Christian translation;
And they will look on him they peirced, and mourn for him...
Are you sure you decided this was shameful tampering of the Bible after the research and not before?
Does it matter? If a thing is true, it hardly matters if one expected it to be true beforehand or did not. Your suggestion of bias is not only irrelevant but a logical fallacy Ad hominum. I'm sure you've heard of it.
I can say, in my own case, that I am still open - minded about that translation as I gather it is ambiguous. However, I am quite sure that the quote, whether accurately translated by the evangelist or not - was lifted from the OT in order to fit the simple story of Jesus (he got nailed up) and transform it into a divine fulfillment of prophecy.
The point I am trying to make, is how could anybody follow a religion that based is on lies. The church and Christians base their whole faith on "hundreds of prophecies" in the "O.T." that foretold Jesus. These prophecies are all lies. There are only 6 messianic prophecies and Jesus did not fulfill any of them. The church new that was a problem so they invented all these prophecies and a second coming. Then they dare to tell Jews we can't even read our own bible. Seriously, you all think there is some sort of supernatural power out there that is keeping Jews from being able to see all these prophecies? You all really think that all the Jews that died instead being forced to convert because believing in a god man is one of the most greivous of crimes?

Not disagreeing with your premise ivria, but I would not necessarily say the prophecies, in themselves, were "lies" per se. While the Jewish prophets made predictions that either never came true OR were written after the fact or made out of simple good guesses based on apparent inevitable events, the Christians later interpreted, twisted and spun them to fit within their theology. THAT's where the "lies" come in.
And can you tell me, when did the Jewish people mourn for this one that was thrust through? And who was this person? And when did all the nations of the earth lay siege to Israel, and Jerusalem? And at what time in history did the people of Israel and Jerusalem become an immovable rock?
Hey Colossus, I am Jewish, my Shabbat is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown, today is Sunday!! As I have said many times before, you Christians read a Christian mistranslation of the Hebrew scriptures and suddenly you are all experts in Judaism!
