This is in the Quran 41: 2-6
تَنزِيلٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ . كِتَابٌ فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ . بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا فَأَعْرَضَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ . وَقَالُوا قُلُوبُنَا فِي أَكِنَّةٍ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ وَفِي آذَانِنَا وَقْرٌ وَمِن بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ فَاعْمَلْ إِنَّنَا عَامِلُونَ . قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَاسْتَقِيمُوا إِلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ

The explanation:
([This Quran] revelation is from [God] Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

A book, whereof the revelations are explained in detail – a Quran in Arabic, for a people who know [the fluency of language.]

[As] a bearer of glad tidings [for those who devote themselves to God alone],
and [as] a warner [for those who associate other patrons with God],

yet most of them have turned away in aversion, so they listen not.

And they say:
"Our hearts are inside shells, [concealed] from that to which you call us,
and in our ears is deafness,
and between us and you is a barrier,

so do [whatever you like; for] we are doing [plots against you.]"

Say [O Mohammed]: "I am only a human being like yourselves; [but] I am inspired that your God is only One God. So be constant to Him, and ask Him to forgive you [your past sins]; woe be to associaters")

Yeah, but i think anyone (not just "they") who is spouting doctrine with seemingly no objective / witnessing aspect of "self" present (awareness "outside" of the mind) is "talking to themselves" ... or just babbling to convince themselves and/or anyone else willing to listen that they "know" ... that they have the answer(s).
If they would stop talking and fall into silent un-knowing they might have a chance at some essential realization / awareness but i think to do that is too threatening to the psyche.
A mind that is totally dependent on a fixed system / rigid doctrine cannot allow even the slightest bit of objective light in for fear that the whole construct would begin to crumble ... which it would.

This is in the Quran 13: 36
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ اللّهَ وَلا أُشْرِكَ بِهِ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُو وَإِلَيْهِ مَآبِ

Some dreams are from angels in the following way:

Many people have experienced seeing some disturbing and annoying dreams, so they awake to find it is the time for the dawun prayer. Therefore they rise up to pray at such early hours of the morning when most people are still sleeping (about one and a half hour before sunrise.)

that's perfectly alright, even before a muezzin would have to "call" them...

Sometimes such "muezzin" is not present, or the call does not reach the man, or his sleep is so deep and he is not easily arouzed from sleep; then comes such dream that make him arise from sleep to go to prayer.

And this is not always and not to everyone; sometimes when he gets familiar with such dreams and he will not rise up to pray; then such dreams will disappear and will not recur.
