I'd like to know. I am straight and happily married, but as hossierguy stated in an earlier thread, how do Christians want to be viewed by Gay people? I would love to see a class in which a gay person tries to 'cure' a Christian of their 'strange' beliefs!!

Wouldn't that be great!

We'd like everyone to look at us and see Jesus.

Thanks for the thread.

Have you heard of "diversity training"? That class is designed to cure everyone, especially the Christians.

I think Allpha gave the definitive answer.
And in regards to your comment,I don't believe Christians or anyone want to "cure" homosexuals. If a homosexual is interested in Christianity they themselves would turn from their sin just as all Christians should. It has nothing to do with being cured because it is not a disease.

I believe christians would like to be viewed with respect by the gay people, and gays would like to be viewed with respect by the christians. Unfortunately I doubt this will ever happen in this world. My personal reasoning is because we as christians appear to intensely dislike anyone who doesn't agree with our opinions. The christians need to learn to get along with each other, and the gays need to get along with each other, then maybe we can all get along. Even though I am a devout christian, I think we nitpick each other on our beliefs, because there are so many. Please understand that I mean no hard feelings and do not want to make anyone uncomfortsble by saying that at least the athiests are united on their non-belief.

Great post, blue I mostly agree. It's intensely difficult to respect/like someone who says, "I love gay people and other sexual deviants." I mean, come on.

But, at the same time, I can understand that they're only trying to live close to their scripture. This is a very complex issue and I don't know if it has an easy solution -- I don't think the majority of religious people who believe that homosexuality is a sin are going to change their minds, and, well, we as gay people don't really have any options with which to placate!

If someone told me they loved gays and other sexual deviants. Their love of gays? Okay, I can accept, but their love for other"sexual deviants" not sure what you mean, but as I understand the term, I will probably think he is a real sicko, and leave!

That's the problem with the word "deviant." It sounds awful, yet I've heard time and time its use. What they were referring to was adulterers!
