His way of presentation is for people of all religions.
And the monument of the 10 Commandments in a park is not endorsing any religion specifically.

What planet - exactly - are you living on? The 10 commandments are a Judeo-Christian creation. Do you object to a monument of the Buddha's Eightfold Path on your City Hall's front lawn?

What are you so afraid of?

If America wants to learn from a guy named Wayne Dyer what do you care? They can't because the religious right doesn't like him? Horror of horrors if someone actually turns on PBS and settles down with a big bowl of popcorn to listen to an explanation of the Buddhist view of God.

I'm guessing Lawrence Welk is about as enlightening as it gets for some people.

Such anger coming from so-called 'Christians.' Interesting...isn't that one of the 'seven deadly sins'???

That's kind of the argument we're having. I object to a new ager like Dyer doing his schtick on PBS but a generic monument of the 10 Commandments is not allowed.

The 10 Commandments are recognized by many different religions, not just Christians and Jews.

Commandment #1 - Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

You must worship the Jewish God. Period.

Now, name the "many different religions" that worship the Jewish God.

well, now...you're just being hateful. That's what I get told, at least.

I'm a Christian and I recognize the 10 Commandments. Jews have no problems with them. There are mormons on this board that would likely recognize them, as well.

When playing word association and someone says 'the 10 commandments' - the first thing that comes to mind is Christianity.
When someone says Wayne Dyer first thing that comes to mind is self improvement.
He is not new age by any stretch of the imagination.

And for what it's worth to you Viz, I'm an 'enemy' of the Christian faith in my pagan ways, yet, I have absolutely no issues with the 10 Commandments being on display in NE.

Hateful? Uh, no. I'm just trying to be perfectly clear. You claim "many different religions, not just Christians and Jews" recognize the Ten Commandments. Then, as an example, you point to the Mormons. So, according to you, Mormons are not Christians.

The point is that YOU MUST worship the God of the Torah, and no other.

That's about as Judeo-Christian as you can get!

huh? I'm hateful because I think having Wayne Dyer on PBS means that we should be able to erect a monument used by several religions?

Really?
