God sent the tsunami to punish people because of tourists' sexual activity: During an interview on Saudi television, Sheik Fawzan Al-Fawzan said that the tsunami was sent by God to punish South Asian countries because they allowed tourists to engage in immoral sexual activity.

Al-Fawzan is a member of the Senior Council of Clerics, Saudi Arabia's highest religious body, and a professor at the Al-Imam University. He is reported as saying: "These great tragedies and collective punishments that are wiping out villages, towns, cities and even entire countries, are Allah's punishments of the people of these countries, even if they are Muslims. We know that at these resorts, which unfortunately exist in Islamic and other countries in South Asia, and especially at Christmas, fornication and sexual perversion of all kinds are rampant. The fact that it happened at this particular time is a sign from Allah. It happened at Christmas, when fornicators and corrupt people from all over the world come to commit fornication and sexual perversion.

Of course "myth" is thriving here. The post modern has "allowed" for the diversity of the culture and the retreat of reason (except in breast enhancement and airplane design-who wants that done according to some primitive ritual?). All the tribal junk, religions, and new junk, has all been allowed to re-appear and mix because the so called "white male euro-centric meta-narrative" no longer dominates and culture and it is now awash in "local" narratives-that is only fair; death to modernity. Feminists now have eros (true love) to counter man's false evil love (their rule of the vagina, the female earth and all you crummy males digging into her-rape that is); racial, gender, and other accidental characteristics are applied to god and beliefs and the truth (such as god is black, only black people can understand the truth of blackness, if your black, substitute white or native american here or broads); atheists only want their thought taught in schools and wish the eradication of all "religions" from society excepting their own myths of Stalin's greatness and how he will ensure that the trash will be picked up on thursday; native americans are attempting to bring back their stuff (warning-they will need a lot of space for all that buffalo so some white folk are going to have to be sacrificed....I mean will have to sacrifice) and white guys are buying their knockoff dream catchers and made in Taiwan beads; the worship of science by secularists (I like the a-bomb myself, the explosion is very aesthetic); return of the Dali Lama (do they still worship his excrement?); the rich and famous loving Buddism (sorry-nothingness-which means 20 mill a movie); big bang theories with its eternal energy (but that eternalness is no god, just something that is the beginning and end..... in some eternal dance that is interpreted by scientific discourse as not god, to be sure); pantheism in the old form or mixed with the form of Star Wars or Avatar or collectivism-socialism; the holism or sacredness of the earth in environmentalism and Peta; or the panentheism of the "men are god" ilk (either religious or atheistic/secular). Political correctness (limiting speech and; therefore, thought) is the sign of the times. If you can't or are forbidden to inquire into something (such as questioning evolution-especially in our "public" schools that belong to everyone-the reading of chicken guts, african tribal rituals, not allowed to critique the pastor; Islam, or what our new president is up to, or whatever), or when you question "it" you run into open hostile hostility, then you know you are approaching the "holy" as myth, so even our good friends the atheists are subject to myths and the defense of such.
