The tornados which spread across the south in the last couple of days played havoc on numerous communities. In one place a church was destroyed except in the building a "table used for fellowship and prayer" was in tact even to the goblets placed on the maroon table cloth. You should have heard the thumpers telling how god was sending a sign of his might.

Yes, but assuming that is true, what about the rest of the building?

That reminds me of a story I heard about the San Fransisco earthquake in 1906. The bible thumpers were out in full force after that one, as it already had a reputation as an anything goes city. Unfortunately, the largest church in town was completely demolished, while the largest distillery was completely unharmed.

Coincidence Is Rare...That's Why They Call It Coincidence
Just a correction here...No, not necessarily. "They" call it coincidence because it, well, coincides. And that's it. If I pass an old man on a bike every single morning as I go out to my car and at the same time, I'm carrying a cup of coffee, I can't say that the man rides by BECAUSE I'm carrying coffee. But by the same token I CAN call it coincidence that this happens, even if it happens every morning.

Another example could be someone saying that every time she prays, she sees something good happen. That doesn't mean her praying caused the good thing to happen. It would be called a coincidence, even if it were every time.

Coincidence - chance occurrence of events remarkable either for being simultaneous or for apparently being connected.

I don't think anyone claims coincidences are rare.. well except for you..
