Disgraceful act of revenge by the far left. They cannot take defeat well, can they!?

Thieves Steal Mojave Desert Memorial Cross in Nighttime Heist

The 7-foot-tall metal cross in a 75-year-old war memorial that withstood the heat of the Mojave Desert and a blazing battle in the Supreme Court over its legality was ripped down and stolen Sunday night, according to federal officials.

"This is an outrage, akin to desecrating people's graves," said Kelly Shackelford, president of the Liberty Institute.

The Liberty Institute is now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the case, and the National Park Service has established a tip hotline seeking information leading to the recovery of the cross. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Park Service at (760) 252-6120.

And what makes you think atheists are responsible?

Yea, I didn't read anything about atheists being involved.

Neither link mentions atheists. I wonder if submitter has an axe to grind? If it *was* an organized group of atheists, this atheist decries their actions. Theft and property destruction are wrong.

The reason that they're offering a reward is because they don't know who committed the crime so it's ridiculous to claim that it was far left atheists. I also feel that whoever did this should be caught and punished but let's not jump the gun and makes claims that are unsubstantiated.

It says it was built to honor Americans who died in war.

Maybe its time to put up something that would honor all the faiths and even those of no faith, and not just a Christian death symbol.

That seems to be a sensible idea.

Any suggestion?

No, I am not an American but I read about Americans and am interested in the troubles there between Christians and atheists.

I call myself a liberal independent Christian.

What do I think of atheists in the US?

The ones I know about are atheists writing in web forums or anywhere in the web where they can say anything they want to say to convince people that they are good people, but my observation is that these atheists are into very impolite speech against God and Christians.

Impolite speech would only make a person impolite. But not a bad person.

As far as a structure to honor all involved in wars. Well I don’t know.
But I would hope it would honor the people and not the war.

Cheers,
Aeroman

Maybe a pole with the flag and a helmet at the base. No words just that.
