i'm wondering if someone can describe the process of trying to evict someone.....how much it costs, how long it takes, how easy is it?, what is usually the outcome, pros, cons, etc.

thanks :-)

There is only one right answer and it is dependant on where the property is located...

Eviction is a legal process full of technicalities that must be followed to the letter of the law...

Failure to do so will, at the very least, delay the eviction and at the worst subject you to additional exposure and expense.

Most Renters have legal-aid and other avenues available to them to fight an eviction at no cost.

I can't stress enough the importance of doing it correctly...

If you have reached the point where eviction is necessary, it's worth getting legal help from an Attorney... especially if this is your first time.

This is true, completely dependent on the State Laws.
Filing incorrectly, even the 5 day letter, (can't include the weekend in DE)
your sunk, the judge will tell you to go home. Then you start the entire process again.

the pros you get the deadbeat out to get a paying tenant in

cons none if you look at not doing anything

the usually outcome tenant gets kicked out

how much does it costs less then letting someone live for free

how long how easy Va I do not know but the longer you wait the worse for you start right away and after you start the evication do not stop unless they pay all your cost and for your time.
