Condo's and Apts are basically the same thing, semantics like someone else said. In my part of the country Chicago a condo is what you buy an apt is what you rent but it seems in New York they talk about buying an apt so I guess they are the same thing.

You could buy or rent a loft so I guess its a condo or apt. Lots of people are trying to market their properties as lofts but basically a loft is generally an old factory, warehouse, industrial space, etc turned into a living space. Usually you have exposed ducting, exposed brick, high ceilings, etc.

Some apts may have a loft in them but are not lofts. Basically this would be in a two story place where the upper level basically has a non walled off space.

Loft means that it is open air construction. Apartments can mean anything. Loft is more descriptive like how you would say "1 bedroom." Does not mean that a LL will list in a way that is marketing and call any old apt a loft to get the readers' eye attention.
