Im in a duplex. my landlord on the first floor. im on the 2nd floor. just went on my county's website. and i see my address and landlords name up for sheriff sale. debt of $191,354.33 $19,135.43. should i start witholding rent or should i ask him about it? it says real estate sale for august 20th

You still owe the rent, so don't stop paying.

You need to go talk to the landlord about this. Take the information to the LL and ask for an explanation. Do not withhold the rent. You will be in the street with no recourse. You have a lease with some protections in it. If you withhold the rent, you lose those protections.

thanks guys. im not gonna stop paying rent. i was reading about this law called Under the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act. Under the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act, tenants have the right to stay in their homes after foreclosure for 90 days or through the term of their lease.my lease isnt up until sept 2011
