I haven't read this thread in its entirety, so this may have been mentioned already.

I've seen listing where they won't even allow you to see the listing in person until you do the application and pay the fee.

Then those are not people I would do business with. How do these conversations even go???

A:"I want to buy X item?"

B:"You can't see it until you pay?"

A:"Ok, here's a check."

It's simple. Some LL have lising agent advertise for them and agent don't want to show it to just anyone and waste their time or worse case, someone come to look at listing and copper pipes all gone a few days later.

It's taking pre-screening to an extreme. I understand that neighborhood is not that great but I have properties in the area, it's not that bad.
