Why would a man be walking around house taking pictures? (foreclosure, landlord)

I just heard a knocking on the door. I had just gotten out of the shower so didn't answer the door but noticed a lady and a man out walking around the house I am renting.
The man took pics and the lady held a clip board and they walked around for about 10 minutes and then left.
What could that have been about?
He does have a shed in the back that a tree fell on and he's looking for someone to repair it so could it be the insurance company looking at the house having something to do with maybe him filing a claim to have shed fixed?

Insurance claim seems pretty likely if this was a recent event.
Also, the county tax assessors in my area walk around and take exterior front photos every few years. Never seen them go in a backyard here, but maybe in your area, they do.
Way too many possible reasons. However, if they were taking pictures of the house from all angles and writing down lots of stuff, odds are it's a routine P&C insurance property inspection.

Yes, the insurance claim is recent. It hasn't been fixed yet as he seems to have a lot of people out looking at it. I figured he's getting estimates on the fix.
When I owned a home for about 8 years, I never remember my home insurance people taking pics of my home. Is that common in all areas of the US? I've never heard family or friends mention that either.
Usually if landlord has someone coming out for example to look at the shed, he gives me a heads up but not this time. Do insurance people just pop in without notice?
