Apparently my building has tenants that receive government assistance and/or is otherwise funded by HUD. I received notice today that there will be a HUD physical inspection beginning of June. I am not on assistance, so is my apartment also subject to the inspection?

It's not that I'm a hoarder or anything, I just don't like the idea of feeling like I still live in a dorm or something. Gives me a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, plus I can't be there seeing as I will be working to make the money to pay my market rate rent ....

Thanks in advance.

To be on the safe side and have concrete proof, just send a brief letter to whoever sent you the notice and clarify the situation.

Good idea to have a clear understanding.

HUD inspection could or could not be related to subsidized rents.

HUD has/had programs for rehab, financing, targeted areas redevelopment, etc...

Yeah I'll drop them a line. On the plus side it's a good way to get them to come check out the issues I've been putting off asking them about.

HUD inspection would have nothing to do with anything not coverd by or related to the HUD inspection. If they are there to check certain units and commn area, they could care less about whats wrong in your unit if its not part of the inspection.
