fyi. Many small landlords aren't required to follow ALL of the Federal Fair Housing Act. Read it and it explains the exclusion reasons. One part that is NOT excluded ever is the advertising part(you can be exluded from other parts but must follow the Fair Housing Act rules for advertising).

But note- there could be state and local (city, county, etc) Fair Housing laws that might apply to you even if you are exempt at the federal level

Regarding your original question: it might be a problem for a property manager, but if you are a small landlord (fewer than 4 properties, I think) looking for a tenant for your own house, use everything you can find.

It wouldn't be a problem for anyone...public info is just that..PUBLIC. Facebook is not public, however many counties have their court info online for anyone to access...and it's all anonymous..unless you tell them you read it online, they'd never know.
