Since property management is taking over responsibility june 1st i have a question about bad windows in the apartment. Multiple windows in this apartment have issues that we had nothing to do with. Some have cracks in the glass on the top sash from thermal stress and improper installation from the start. Some also have leaks in the seal so they build up condensation between the window panes. A few of them are extremely hard to open and one has no support it just drops when you try to open it so we never used it.

Should we document this with pictures and send it to the landlord before property management takes over?

My reasoning is we don't want to be held responsible by the management company when we move out.

It's a little late for that. You're already in the apartment and should have documented these things already.

We notified him about the window in the bathroom a few months back and he had that fixed at a glass shop and put the window sash back in himself. That one had a thermal stress crack. One would think to make sure the other windows were ok while he was here. I figured he knew about them and since the windows aren't leaking water he just didn't want to invest into fixing them.

He just saw no reason to fix it if it wasn't broken.
If/when it is broken... then you fix.

It was there he knew about the problem windows i'm not naive. How can a big crack on a window not be broken? I fail to understand your thinking.

Absolutely you should document it. Take a pic if every window and a note with location and what is the problem with each window
