What can I do if my landlord gives me a 3 day pay or quit on the 6th, but verbally telling me to get out? On top of that he tells me that he is not giving me back my deposit
You got your pay or quit. Either get out or get taken to court and have your permanent record ruined so that you will forever after have a difficult time renting a new place.
If you owe rent, no, you are not going to get your deposit back. That will be used as liquidated damages and the landlord get it for the back rent you owe.
How large was your deposit exactly that you're worrying about it when you haven't paid your rent?
Will your LL still accept the rent, plus late fees if any (they're not really legal in CA, but lots of LL collect them regardless) or does he/she simply want you gone at this point? Do you have roommate/s?
If you don't move, your LL will have to start the eviction process through the courts, which you should avoid if at all possible. If you are served, go to court. If an attorney is used, you'll be stuck paying those expenses as well. The sheriff will force you to leave. Your wages will likely be garnished. It'll be difficult to rent another place.
Thr trouble with some of these brand new posters is that they somehow find C_D , post a question and never return.
No, the saddest part is that all these brand new posters come here looking for confirmation bias for their own situation. Once the reality of the issue hits them square in the face (that they are plain wrong!) and they find out that nobody here is coddling them, then they leave and never return.
