Thank you, Ultrarunner. I always read your posts. They are well informed and intelligently written. I'm sorry I have such an attitude at some rental issues. My father had one, they destroyed it, and he sold the house for $4000. I swore I wouldn't do it. Then it was my turn. I was the nicest landlord, first 2 weeks free rent, no deposits, paint to order, free furniture, paid water, yard maintenance... Every benefit was abused, and the more I did, the more they wanted. I've been sued so many times, I usually know the renter's lawyers, and they know me. I've never lost. Evictions sue for moving expenses, one sued because she flushed 12 diapers down the toilet and it flooded her apartment (12 is how many my plumber fished out). I even paid for the plumber. The best tenant I ever had looked like Charles Manson and Squeaky Fromme, but were clean and dependable. You can't tell to look at them, eh? Please continue you comments. I do enjoy them.

It's great that you are being cautious about credit cards. I am 30 now and I'm just starting to really understand the whole world of credit scores and good financial choices. I wish I had begin trying to establish a good credit score five or ten years ago.

Why not just get a card in order to establish credit, but don't normally keep it in your wallet? Use it every once in a while for a big purchase, (like $300) and then pay it off quickly every few months. This will show you can handle having credit and paying your bills on time.
