You wont get a complete answer...I'll bet just about anything they weren't due their deposit back because they left the place dirty and with some damage.

i know a couple of judges downtown went to talk to them and they both said it's harder to sue and win against a landlord than isnt a company. so if its a guy renting out a 4 plex or something....you're basically wasting your time because of all the crap they pull etc etc.

he said alot of the time the landlord will just go AWOL and virutally nothing can be done because obviously theyre still in business.

You just walked into the Justice Center and had a chat with a few judges? Sure you did......and they also gave you free legal advice? Wow.

I guess you never hear of "small claims" court.

Lol. This is ridiculous. It's common knowledge that some landlords try to keep every bit of the security deposit for themselves. This happens to good, bad and in between tenants. I don't quite understand it, keeping someone's security deposit if they left the place as they acquired it. This is why I suggest to renters, take pictures before, take pictures after. Those go a long way if you ever need to use them in court.
