Just wonder, if your building has a laundry room for tenants, would the owner mind if you have/use your own washing machine in your apartment? (water, both cold and hot, are included in the rent)

Do you have actual hook ups or MacGyver the connections. He may have a reason for not allowing it like possible burst hoses and flooding the apartment

The only person who can answer the question is your landlord.

I'm just curious what could possibly make a LL ban washing machine in apartments before I may ask the LL. Thanks Electrician4you for the reply.

If the unit does not have proper hook ups you can get a portable washing machine. Look at your lease and see if they specifically say no washers in your unit. I would not try to hook up a traditional washer and dryer without the proper hook ups. Talk about a flood and fire hazard.

the ll does not need a reason to say no to washing machines our reasons are leaks water use. but the ll just has to say no if they have a laundry room the more than likely the answer is no.

Ok, thanks for the input. Most likely giving up the idea. By the way, anyone familiar with this Haier 1-cubic-foot portable washer? That's what I had in mind, though it seems now there will still be issues re hooking and draining...

My biggest concern would be flooding when you're not home and a hose bursts

I would never use it while not home. If I had one, I'd disconnect everything after use...

There's no guarantee that everyone else would do that. Ask your LL.
