As for renting from drunks, you've cornered the market on that..there's only room for one 'special' tenant.

cornered the market, hardly. at the last two places - both run by drunks - there were 18 people total living there.

drunks, by necessity, learn to be very good at finding ways to enable their vices without actually working. so why don't they get a job too?

Rentals in my area of Florida are not that cheap. A 2/2 unit in a nice, clean, decent area with all amenities is going to run roughly $1300. You can find cheaper, but you won't want to live there. What part of Florida is your friend?
Tampa... But she moved back to WV when she had a stroke.

selling chit on the internet for 60cents on the dollar is not a job. It's a hobby. And I don't know why baby mama and/or Johnny don't get a job. Why don't you get a job?

They have an income...its called your monthly rent check. If it bothers you that they found a way to make an income, with very little effort, buy a house and rent out the rooms. It's really not that hard..if a drunk can do it, I bet you can too.

you need to be more discerning when looking at rentals...two drunks in a row? I bet you never saw that coming twice

Good, at least she has family around her...that's always important.

We have a lot of elderly folks that started out as snowbirds but became full-timers and when one spouse passes, the other is here alone. Normally their kids are all up north and 'too busy' to bother to come down and the surviving spouse 'doesn't want to bother their kids'. It's sad.

I know it's off topic...lol, but to be on topic. We do have some really, really nice low income senior housing.

Kim 2 bedrooms in my area adv $6-700 a month. Go into MD then it jumps to $1600 ^ Or VA $2000^ I 20 miles from each border! When they get to WV in my area they end up buying so it quite a turn over in rentals. You can buy a 2 bedroom newer home here for $200,000 or higher in VA or MD My Aunt sold there home of 50+ yrs for 1 cool million in Northern VA then moved back here to WV got the same home for $200,000!! We are about 90 miles from DC just crossing into WV prices Drop like crazy!!
