Also provide my military letters stating my impairment. Seems excessive. I already blanked out my full account balance on my statements. The superintendent showing me the apt almost got into an argument with me on privacy issues I had with all this info.
What do you guys think? Is this normal these days? I remember 8 years ago I didn't need so much stuff

I can't speak to Canada, but in the US, all of the above are pretty normal, maybe with the exception of the bank letter and military records, unless the Canadian GOVT has a spiff/program for renting to impaired Vets? But SSN, pay stubs, bank records, etc are all somewhat common. Most of my experience has been that they want pay stubs and not bank information personally.
